The Adamantes Limited Edition project began with the desire to create a loudspeaker of truly outstanding sonic performance, taking as its cue our top model of the Diapason range, the Adamantes,in production since 1989 and winner of the Excellence in Design Award from the American magazine Audio Video Interiors.
In this new version of the
Adamantes, the polihedric "diamond" form is retained, a type of construction recognized worldwide as the fusion of original Italian design with close attention to acoustic principles, which allows the loudspeaker drive units to perform at their best. The beauty of the wood and the skill of the Italian craftsmen who produce it are fully in evidence in the Adamantes Limited Edition. Staves of solid Italian walnut are used for the cabinet construction, with a special gloss finish which brings out the vein and colour of this rare and precious material.
In more than ten years of experience in loudspeaker design,
Diapason has perfected the new Diapason Direct Drive technology, which allows direct connection from the amplifier to the bass drive unit without the use of a low-pass filter in the crossover. The result of this new system can be heard immediately when listening: greater transient speed in the low frequency range with no loss of sensitivity or phase rotation.
The bass unit used in the
Adamantes Limited Edition is built exclusively for Diapason to our own precise specification, and the 20 mm silk soft dome of the treble unit is given a special surface treatment.

The high-pass crossover circuit is hard wired with Van den Hul CS cable in oxygen-free silver coated copper, eliminating deleterious sonic effects of printed-circuit boards.
All crossover components and all drive units are individually tested and matched to within a tolerance of less than 1% in order to guarantee a correct stereo reproduction.
The new protective grille is made from special acoustically inert materials, and is designed not to affect either the dispersion or the acoustic response of the loudspeaker. The innovative design of the new metal grille contributes to the attractive appearance of the loudspeaker while allowing the drive units to be seen.
A unique method of fixing the grille and the special lacquer eliminate any possibility of resonance.
Finally, a new wood and metal stand has been designed for this loudspeaker.
Called the 2/B Stand, it is supplied with each loudspeaker. This very attractive stand is interlaced with walnut to compliment the
Adamantes and to create a harmonious aesthetic whole.
