The beautiful cabinetry in solid wood is not only an integral part of the design, but the highest example of Italian furniture-making. At the basis of every Diapason project is the study of form, whether in the search for an elegant and refined appearance or for innovative solutions in the quest for perfect acoustic reproduction: the Prelude has a real leather baffle which assists in resonance damping, while the small dimensions of the Micra are themselves an aid to drive unit performance. The same care is taken with the cabinet interior, which is designed to limit resonance. The drive units and crossovers used in each Diapason project are the result of the most advanced acoustic research, and are matched to a tolerance of within 1%. Drive units are made by the best manufacturers to strict Diapason specifications. Only materials which have been thoroughly tested are used,to ensure the best acoustic performance.The crossover circuits are hard-wired with Van den Hul oxygen-free silvered copper cables and eliminate deleterious sonic effects of printed-circuit boards.

Only polypropylene capacitors are used in order to minimize signal losses.Thanks to their benign impedance curve, Diapason loudspeakers are an easy load for any kind of amplifier, whether valve or solid-state.
The new protective grille is made from special acoustically inert materials,and is designed not to affect either the dispersion or the acoustic response of the loudspeaker. The innovative design of the new metal grille contributes to the attractive appearance of the loudspeaker while allowing the drive units to be seen. A unique method of fixing the grille and the special lacquer eliminate any possibility of resonance.The loudspeakers are fitted with the new Speakon connectors, noted for their quality and reliability, which give an excellent and durable contact as well as being easy to use. The Speakon connectors are EC-approved for electrical safety.The original Diapason stands are recommended since they contribute to remove any audible distortions and aesthetically match the speakers. Micra speakers may be placed on stands or shelves.
